Meet the Newest Members of the Calman Team

We are thrilled to have welcome three new members to the Calman team who have been recruited in response to the needs of young people looking to progress towards work and/or independent living in a post-Covid world.

“Hello! My name is Shannon and I am new to the Calman Team! I am very excited to start working with you all.  Before joining the Calman Trust I was working as a Social Worker in Criminal Justice in West Lothian, however, before that I was a Youth Worker in Aberdeen for a few years.  I missed Youth Work so much I made the decision to come back to it!

In my spare time I love to bake. I try to make something sweet once a week, I find baking very relaxing and enjoy trying out new recipes whenever I can.  I am very passionate about food; I love cooking a meal from scratch with my friends or going out to different places and trying food from all cultures.

As well as food, travelling is something that I love, in 2019 I travelled across Australia for almost 2months alone and I hope to do some more travelling in the future.

Last year I purchased my first Digital SLR camera, I am very much an amateur photographer but I adore taking photos of my dogs when out on a long walk. Speaking of dogs, I have three! They are all border collies, and they are mad! I used to compete in Dog Agility with them all over Scotland but my dog is now too old for this so she is enjoying her retirement on the couch!”

Fin Annand – Outreach Youth Worker

“Hi everyone!  My name is Fin and I have just started working at Calman Trust in the position of Outreach Youth Worker. I will be working with some amazing young people, predominately aged 15-18, to help support them to achieve a positive post school destination. Covid-19 has brought so many additional barriers and challenges for us all and I am looking forward to working with young people to help them move forward during this unprecedented time.

I have come from a sports development background and have owned a sports coaching, development and events company called EQ Sport for the past seven years.  We have just released our first book, My Healthy Happy Diary, which aims to support the development of a Growth Mindset in children.

My favourite hobby is football and during my 20s I lived in America for five years playing and studying on a soccer scholarship.

I am excited to be a part of the Calman team and can’t wait to meet everyone.”

“Hello Everyone! My name is Chloe and I have recently joined the Calman Trust Team. I have experience in working in the Health and Social care setting, I previously worked as a Mental Health Support Worker. My role within Calman Trust is as a Youth Worker in Employability, I will be based in the Invergordon office. I will be working closely with Shannon and Ann in the Employability team. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and to be working within an amazing organisation.

One of my favourite things to do is explore new places while walking my dog, I enjoy being outside in nature. I love to spend time with my family and catch up with my friend when I can. I enjoy reading crime or mystery fiction books in my spare time. I enjoy cooking even though I am new to it and like to find recipes to make.”
